Oh Twitter, Twitter, Twitter. How so many people don’t really like you and some just can’t stop using it. It’s pretty safe to say that the majority of the Degrassi cast does, in fact, use Twitter and post quite often. It’s cool to see them so open about posting about their lives and sometimes even about Degrassi. Gives us fans some unexpected surprises here and there.

It’s an even BIGGER unexpected surprise when some of them tweet you back. No, it’s more like a serious fangirl squeal moment for a good hour before actually calming down.

My face, yesterday

So it all began when I was tweeting my latest post yesterday on my @DegrassiDish account when I saw that Ray Ablack posted about hockey.

My boyfriend is actually a huge hockey fan (or sports fan in general) so I pick up a lot of useless sports knowledge through him. So replied to him, just to see if I could get a response.

A lot of the time when I tweet celebs I don’t really expect a response. I could only imagine how many @replies stars get. So, refer back to the kitty reaction when Ray Ablack tweets me back.

@RayAblack Really? Nice! Alright fair enough. Rangers haven’t been shutting out anyone recently either so I can relate.

All the while I was FREAKING OUT. But really, how cool is that? I love how amazingly chill Degrassi actors are. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me. I’ve gotten the lucky chance to have Scott, Ray (again), and Exec Producer Stephen Stohn tweet me back on my personal twitter. All instances which I nearly died after.

Have you ever had a Degrassi star tweet you? Want to? The secret, I’ve found out is that they are pretty much just as average as you and me. How would you feel if you got “OMAGAAAAAAAAAAAAHH I LOVELOVELOVEYOU TWEETME?” all day? Not really all that flattered. Keep it cool (even though you’re probably not) and just tweet them like you would a friend. You might just be lucky enough to get a reply.
